Your reply card is an enclosure card that is included with your invitation suite. Usually one of the smaller-sized cards in the envelope, and is paired with an envelope that is pre-addressed, and pre-stamped.

These little babies haven’t been getting as much love as they deserve since the invention of the wedding website. Now don’t get me wrong, I am all for streamlining processes and utilizing technology to make our lives easier. All for it! I used to design websites for a living, so I can totally understand why they are important! But you know who isn’t all for it? My Grandpa Ski.

Of course, there are plenty of tech-savvy grandparents out there these days, but it never hurts to have a good ol’ reliable, piece of paper for people to write on. It adds depth and finesse to your invitation suite and people like checking those little boxes dictating whether they “can’t wait to come!” or “will be there in spirit!”. You can always include your wedding website on a reply card as well so people have the option of sending it back or ticking a box online. The reply card is where guests can mark their meal preferences or reply to additional events they are invited to. One of my favorite things about mail-in reply cards is that you get some really sweet hand-written notes back that make wonderful keepsakes.

Remember to take reply envelope postage into account when budgeting for your invitations. A reply card envelope, which is the smallest letter size you can mail, takes a 1oz forever stamp which as of today (May 2021) costs 55¢. We don’t include postage for your international guests, since they might have different postage requirements, it will be easier for them to decipher their postal rates than it would be for you. It might also be easier to send them an email asking if they are coming since mail is running a bit slower these days.
