First Lady Dr. Jill Biden’s inauguration jacket
When we work with our stationery clients, one thing we always ask them to send us any inspiration that they have for their wedding. A lot of times they send over invitations they love or other detail shots from other weddings. But when they send us photos that are totally unrelated to a wedding, we get so inspired! We start to see what makes their story, theirs, and that’s where the real fun begins.
On the morning of the inauguration, we were huddled around the laptop watching the livestream and when we saw Jill’s beautiful teal jacket, it was like inspiration punched us in the face!
Her blue coat (we see teal, so we’re going to call it teal from now on) is so full of rich texture and color that we just had to design a suite inspired by it.
We also love how Jill chose to wear a US designer to the inauguration, bringing back the tradition of US designers dressing the administration.
Here’s the inspiration for the suite:
We loved the teal color combined with the velvet cuffs. In the design of this suite, we opted for a more formal script in white, on a medium teal paper.
Instead of a printed monogram crest, we opted for a printed crest, with a wax seal inside of it. The velvet ribbon is the perfect way to tie it all together!
